Hip Hop is an American phenomenon which grew out of the Block Parties in New York in the 1970s. Hip Hop culture spread fast worldwide in the 80s through DJing and scratching, breakdancing, graffiti art, beatboxing and instrumental beats. The music buying nation has embraced Hip Hop culture since and the culture has found permanent residence in every corner of the globe.

The UK has always inspired and grown music from the US, it is known as a starting ground for taking music to the next level and breaking household names, the list is endless; House music is a classic example, Hip Hop greats; Jurassic 5, rock giants the White Stripes, Kings of Leon and jazz classic artists such as Terry Callier.

In a pioneering new project, from Grammy Winner/ Public Enemy producer Burt Blackarach and backed by Public Enemy, UK Hip Hop is taking a step onto a worldwide platform.

UK Hip Hop first intrigued Burt Blackarach whilst touring the UK in the summer of 2013. After being shown UK artists and pioneering sounds on youtube by (us) his Management group, he expressed a wish to create a Hip Hop album with UK artists. With a feeling that the UK had the key ingredient that the US had been lacking for many years and the UK still cared about the core of Hip Hop.

Currently two thirds through the project, he continues to be astounded at the talent in the UK and judging from the studio cuts we are expecting big things from the release.
