Frankie Knuckles was one of dance music's most revolutionary figures.

He became one of the most renowned DJs in the world and for almost 30 years up to his death yesterday he still packed the world dance floors with his insatiable unique style.

He was a leader in the creation and evolution of house music, now the foremost staple of dance in clubs throughout the world.

It was this celebrity and his constant fundraising for some of his favourite charities dealing with aids, homelessness, and education of our youth, that garnered him one of the most prestigious honours by the City Of Chicago. He has a street names after him, He was that DOPE.

On 19 September 2005, Knuckles was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame for his outstanding achievement as a DJ

During his globetrotting DJ escapades he was nicknamed 'The Godfather of House' the press got hold of it and it stuck - quite rightly. Nobody surpasses Mr Knuckles profound influence on House music.
