Matthew „Excalibah‟ Xia is a freelance director, musical director, composer,
journalist (HHC, IDJ, Big Smoke, Sunday Telegraph, The Guardian), broadcaster
(Radio 1, 1Xtra, 6 Music, Radio 4, Galaxy FM), and DJ (Ministry of Sound, Fabric
and clubs across Europe and the UK). Known for promoting new UK talent under
the pseudonym Excalibah he won Best Radio Show and Best Radio Presenter in
the hip-hop press for his 1Xtra show Tales From The Legend in 2003, 2004 and
2005 giving airplay to artists such as Estelle, Sway and Plan B. He also filled in for
the legendary John Peel on BBC Radio 1.
