Bunny Bread – An Artistic Collaborator

I knew Bunny for over two and half decades.  I couldn't actually tell you where or when I met him, whether it was Mau Mau or Ion bar or before, but mostly I knew him through Jazz Refreshed.

I admired Bunny's creative innovation and championed his work, also working with him on different projects through the years.

He always seemed pleasently surprised when we delivered what was proposed, which I always found a reason to inside smile in those shared joy moments. I loved his phone calls at the last minute, to check if "it" was happening and he came through.

We had the best time doing the Sniff N Wessun gig, bent his arm to do it and we were both grateful he agreed in the end. He was a happy man that night, great gig and a phenomenal London promoter collective.

He was a collaborator; if he felt he failed in optional deliverables he'd always put his hands up and say. It was honest and he had integrity which made collaboration easy. His passion for the art was at the forefront of what he chose to work on.

From him playing a festival project, e.p launch, official photographer at Wembley for Public Enemy, co-promoting, discussing artsy ideas and work, executing his ideas : one notable is the photoshoot with The Rebirth, a London ode to the Blackbyrds in front of a Banksy and of course his Film promo work.

He was never expectant or demanding, in an entitled way which you see a fair amount in this industry. Putting his hand up to record live shows and interviews, where he thoughtfully could and within his criteria.

His deep thinkerisms, golden nuggets, knowledge input, wisdom output and his creative interests had limitless depth and width, he was curious and his perspectives intelligent. I respected it. He showed me the importance of having lines in the independent world.

He was committed to ART, through his love of Hip hop culture, Jazz and array of music.

On or ahead of trends and not in a conscious calculating way, in a life learned and experienced way, inspired by what he wanted to do.

He was a cross polinator of the arts, sharing, exchanging and blessing his tailored gifts on all of us, a solid do what he says guy, and sometimes - eventually with a nudge or two.

In my view he was yet to reap the benefit and recognition for his achievements in life that he deserved for his Art graft and innovative ideas.

Though life has unexpected twists and turns; its been a while since I've seen his face, though I was very much looking forward to seeing him when I did.

Somehow I wish it made hearing the unbelievable head falling, tear streaking, dejecting news of his accent easier.

The amount of tributing to him paints his final picture.
